Shivam and Pramod Kumar Arrested for Rs 9 Lakh Job Scam

Telegram-based “work from home” fraud exposed in Chandigarh

Chandigarh Cyber Crime Police have arrested two men in connection with a fake job-cum-investment scam worth around Rs 9.03 lakh. The accused, Shivam (21) and Pramod Kumar (24), both residents of Ludhiana, were involved in a Telegram-based “work from home” fraud.

The case was registered following a complaint by Gurvinder Pal Kaur, a Chandigarh resident, who alleged that she was cheated through an online job offer. The fraudsters lured her into performing fake online review tasks with promises of high commissions.

To gain her trust, the scammers initially sent small payments but later deceived her into depositing a total of Rs 9,03,011 under the pretext of “unlocking” and “repairing” her frozen account.

Police investigations are ongoing to determine if the accused were part of a larger fraud network operating through Telegram and other online platforms. Authorities have warned citizens to verify work-from-home opportunities and avoid sending money for account-related tasks.
