Tirupur police arrested two men on Monday in connection with separate murder incidents in the Kangeyam area.
In the first case, S. Sivakumar (50) of Kaattupalayam, Kangeyam, was killed at his farm in Vellakoil by his driver, Gautham (30). Police said Gautham, allegedly intoxicated, got into a verbal argument with Sivakumar and attacked him with a wooden log before fleeing the scene. Vellakoil police subsequently registered a murder case.
In the second case, Rajkumar (45) of Vellakoil murdered his business partner, K. Eswaramoorthy (45), on October 18. Authorities said the two had ongoing disputes over their real estate business. On the day of the incident, Rajkumar reportedly rammed Eswaramoorthy and his father Kittusamy’s motorcycle with his car near Varakkalipalayam, and then beat Eswaramoorthy to death with an iron rod. Kittusamy filed a complaint, leading Vellakoil police to register the case.
Both Gautham and Rajkumar were produced in court on Monday and remanded to judicial custody.
