BLADEN COUNTY, N.C. — A Bladen County woman is being held without bond after deputies say she shot her husband in the head during a domestic dispute early Tuesday morning.
According to the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO), deputies responded to reports of shots fired around 8:30 a.m. on October 15 in the Oakdale Homes area of Clarkton. When they arrived, they found Craig Rich suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.
Rich was transported to a nearby hospital, where he remains in stable condition, officials confirmed.
Investigators identified the suspect as 50-year-old Alisa Michelle Rich of Whiteville, the victim’s wife. She has been charged with attempted first-degree murder and is being held at the Bladen County Detention Center without bond.
The sheriff’s office also addressed speculation surrounding Rich’s mugshot, clarifying that the eyepatch she wore was unrelated to the incident and had been in place before her arrest.
BCSO said the shooting appears to be domestic-related and that the case remains under active investigation.
