ABERDEEN, N.C. — A Southern Pines man has been arrested in connection with a series of vehicle break-ins and a firearm theft that occurred in Aberdeen and Southern Pines. Usher Daquan Wright Robinson, 25, was taken into custody on February 19, 2024, facing multiple felony charges.
According to Aberdeen Police Chief Brian Chavis, the investigation began on September 6, 2023, after police responded to reports of multiple vehicles being broken into in the Kensington Village neighborhood. Officers discovered that the suspect gained entry into several vehicles, primarily through unlocked doors. One of the victims reported that a firearm had been stolen from their vehicle.
Investigators believe the suspect also committed break-ins in nearby Southern Pines, although the exact locations of those crimes have not been disclosed. Authorities in Southern Pines recovered the stolen firearm during their investigation.
Robinson has been charged with four counts of felony breaking and entering a motor vehicle and one count of felony larceny of a firearm. His secured bond was set at $25,000.
As with all criminal cases, Robinson is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
