Five Arrested in Enfield Retail Theft and Drug Operation

Police target shoplifters and offenders in shopping district crackdown

ENFIELD, Conn. — A coordinated retail theft operation led by the Enfield Police Department resulted in the arrest of five individuals on various theft, drug, and motor vehicle charges.

On Thursday, officers from the Enfield Police Department, the Detective Bureau, Connecticut State Police, and K-9 units conducted a targeted enforcement operation in Enfield’s shopping district. Working alongside loss prevention teams from several retailers, law enforcement focused on identifying and apprehending shoplifters in real time.

Three suspects were charged with shoplifting, while two others were arrested for motor vehicle and drug-related offenses.

Those arrested include:

Farrah Decker, 24, of Enfield: Charged with operating a motor vehicle under suspension, improper marker plate, operating an unregistered and uninsured vehicle, reckless driving, reckless endangerment, and engaging in pursuit.

Terrance Jones, 35, of Windsor Locks: Charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Shayna Castello, 37, of Enfield: Charged with sixth-degree larceny, resisting arrest, unlawful possession of a personal identifying device, and possession of a controlled substance.

Stephanie Velez, 30, of Springfield: Charged with sixth-degree larceny and risk of injury to a minor.

Jamiretsi Olivencia, 33, of Springfield: Charged with sixth-degree larceny and risk of injury to a minor.

The Enfield Police Department said the operation was part of an ongoing effort to reduce organized retail theft and related criminal activity in the community.
