He has been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Sector 126 police station.

According to SHO Bhupendra Singh, Damodar was living at a friend’s flat in a high-rise in Sector 134, Noida, for the past few days.

The arrest took place during a routine vehicle check near Sector 134. “When police flagged down the car, the driver tried to flee and rammed it into a road divider. He was stopped shortly after,” Singh said.

Upon inspection, police recovered:

Three packets of marijuana weighing approx. 6.8 kg

500 grams of premium quality marijuana, valued at around Rs3 lakh

A police official involved in the investigation said Damodar had arrived in Noida four days ago and bought a second-hand Mercedes C 200. One of his friends introduced him to an online marijuana supplier, and he began delivering drugs for a commission.

On the day of his arrest, Damodar was reportedly en route to Delhi for a delivery.

Police have registered a case against him under relevant sections of the NDPS Act. Further investigations are ongoing to trace the supply network and other associates involved.
