MADISON COUNTY, N.C. (FOX Carolina) — A 27-year-old Lenoir man has been arrested following an investigation into a shooting in Marshall, North Carolina, on September 21.
Authorities said Saul Pelcastre was taken into custody by the State Bureau of Investigation and the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
According to officials, Pelcastre faces multiple serious charges, including:
Discharging a firearm into an occupied, moving vehicle
Four counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill
Two counts of statutory rape of a child under 15
Indecent liberties with a child
First-degree kidnapping
The investigation linked Pelcastre to a violent incident involving both gunfire and sexual offenses. Details surrounding the shooting and the victims have not been publicly released.
Pelcastre is currently in custody as authorities continue their investigation.
