Anthony Boyd Indicted for Fatal Sheridan Avenue Stabbing in Albany

Albany man charged with second-degree murder and weapon possession

Albany, NY (WRGB) — Anthony Boyd, 36, an Albany resident, has been formally indicted in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred last week on Sheridan Avenue. The Albany County District Attorney, Lee C. Kindlon, announced the charges include Murder in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, and three counts of Tampering With Physical Evidence.

The stabbing incident took place on September 25 around 6:10 AM near the 300 block of Sheridan Avenue, close to Henry Johnson Boulevard. Police responded to reports of a stabbing and found 29-year-old Devin Brevard suffering from multiple stab wounds. Emergency responders treated Brevard at the scene before transporting him to Albany Medical Center Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Boyd was apprehended later the same day around 3:20 PM near the intersection of First Street and Lexington Avenue. Following his arrest, he pleaded not guilty to all charges and is currently being held at the Albany County Correctional Facility awaiting further court proceedings.

District Attorney Kindlon confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, and additional details may be released as the case develops.
