CHARLES COUNTY, Md. (7News) — A Waldorf man is behind bars after a drug trafficking investigation led police to seize multiple drugs and weapons, according to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office.

On September 4, detectives with the Narcotics Enforcement Section, along with the Neighborhood Enforcement Team and Emergency Services Team, executed a search warrant at two homes on the 9800 and 9900 blocks of Bunker Hill Road in Waldorf.

During the search, authorities recovered:

12 ounces of PCP

3.5 grams of cocaine

3 grams of fentanyl compound

Drug production and manufacturing equipment

5 regulated handguns

3 long guns

The suspect, Corey Daniel Claggett, 45, of Waldorf, was arrested and charged with:

Possession with intent to distribute

Drug manufacturing violations

Firearms violations

Claggett is prohibited from possessing firearms due to a prior felony conviction. He was transported to the Charles County Detention Center, where he is currently being held without bond.

Authorities say the bust is part of an ongoing effort to disrupt local drug distribution networks in Charles County.

The investigation is ongoing.
