TOWN OF OSWEGATCHIE, N.Y. — A 27-year-old Heuvelton man has been arrested for allegedly assaulting an elderly man during a verbal altercation.
According to New York State Police, Brandon Hooper was charged with second-degree assault causing injury to a victim aged 65 or older.
Troopers responded to an assault complaint on McIlwee Road just before 3:10 p.m. on September 28. An investigation revealed the incident occurred a week earlier, on September 21, when a dispute between Hooper and the victim escalated. Hooper allegedly grabbed the elderly man and threw him to the ground, resulting in physical injury.
Hooper was later located, arrested, and transported to the state police station in Ogdensburg for processing.
He was arraigned in Town of Morristown Court and remanded to St. Lawrence County Jail with bail set at $25,000 cash or $50,000 bond.
