Thomas Jeffers, 41, from Oakville, has been charged following a human trafficking investigation conducted by Halton police.
Investigators from the Human Trafficking Unit began their inquiry in March after receiving reports that a woman was being exploited for financial gain. The victim was allegedly trafficked throughout the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) in the sex trade.
On September 22, police executed a search warrant at a residence in Oakville, where Jeffers was taken into custody. During the search, officers discovered a polymer 80 Glock-style pistol, a prohibited magazine loaded with multiple rounds of ammunition, approximately $7,500 in cash, as well as various electronic devices.
Jeffers now faces several charges, including receiving material benefits from sexual services, unauthorized firearm possession, procuring, and other related offenses.
He remains in custody and is scheduled for a bail hearing in Milton.
