APEX, N.C. — A 19-year-old Apex man was arrested on September 25 after authorities say a scam attempt was uncovered and stopped in time.
Avinash C. Patel, a resident of Barn Cat Way, has been charged with two felony counts: attempting to obtain property by false pretense and conspiracy.
Details regarding the nature of the attempted scam have not been publicly released, but officials confirmed that the fraudulent activity was identified before any property was successfully obtained.
