TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) — The Leon County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) has arrested Daniel Vincent, 44, of Illinois, in connection with a bank robbery in Tallahassee that prompted Chiles High School to enforce a closed campus protocol.

Vincent was apprehended in Bay County after investigators tracked his movements following the robbery. Initially, it was reported that no money was taken, but LCSO later confirmed Vincent stole $1,155 from a teller at Centennial Bank.

According to an LCSO press release, Vincent entered the bank on Wednesday around 1:30 p.m. and demanded cash. He claimed to have a gun, although no evidence has confirmed the presence of a weapon.

When arrested by the Bay County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO), Vincent had approximately $1,000 on him. He was booked into Bay County Jail for robbery and is expected to be extradited to Leon County to face charges.

During the incident, Chiles High School was placed under closed campus protocol for roughly 20 minutes as a precautionary measure.
