On September 25, 2025, the Prohibition Enforcement Wing police seized 100 kilograms of ganja valued at Rs7 lakh near Bargur in Krishnagiri. The narcotic was discovered during a routine vehicle check close to the Andhra Pradesh border.
During the operation, three men were arrested: Venugopal (29), Harikrishna (26) from Kadapalli, and Vellaipandi (46) from Ayyampatty in Madurai. The police intercepted a two-wheeler and a car early Thursday morning, leading to the recovery of the illegal substance.
Authorities are continuing investigations to trace the origin and intended destination of the ganja and to dismantle any related networks.
