Kaithal, Haryana: In a major crackdown on narcotics smuggling, the Special Detective Unit of Kaithal Police arrested two drug traffickers and seized 163.71 kg of doda post, a banned narcotic, hidden inside a truck on September 24.
During a routine evening patrol near Narad village under Titaram police station, a team led by Sub-Inspector Ramesh Kumar received a tip-off about suspicious activity near an under-construction petrol pump on NH-152.
The team acted swiftly and raided the location, where they found a closed-body container truck with two suspects inside, allegedly preparing to head towards Ambala. Upon search, ten plastic sacks of doda post were recovered from the vehicle.
The accused were identified as:
Rajvinder Singh alias Raja
Kashmira Singh
Both are residents of Mandwal village.
According to Superintendent of Police Upasana, the truck was originally transporting 30 refrigerators from Pune to Ludhiana, but during the journey, the accused allegedly procured the narcotics from Madhya Pradesh. The seized contraband has an estimated market value of Rs20 lakh.
The truck has also been impounded as part of the operation, and the accused have been booked under relevant sections of the NDPS Act. Further investigation is underway to trace the supply network.
