Chetan Bhatre Arrested for Killing Father Grandfather in Andheri

Drug addict kills two relatives, injures uncle in Santoshimata chawl

A 23-year-old man, identified as Chetan Manoj Bhatre, allegedly killed his father and grandfather and seriously injured his uncle during a violent incident at their residence in Andheri, police reported on Wednesday.

The incident occurred Tuesday night at Santoshimata chawl, where the accused attacked his family members with a knife. His father, Manoj Bhatre (57), and grandfather, Babu Bhatre (79), died on the spot. His uncle, Anil Babu Bhatre (54), sustained serious injuries and is receiving treatment at Nair Hospital.

According to the MIDC police, Chetan was arrested immediately after the incident. Preliminary investigations reveal that Chetan, a drug addict, had been frequently harassed and abused by his father and grandfather. Frustrated by the ongoing mistreatment, he launched the attack on his family members.

The accused is now in police custody, and the case has been registered at the MIDC police station.
