NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. — North Charleston Police have arrested Isiah Stroud, 38, on September 16 for unlawful possession of a handgun as a convicted felon.
Stroud was taken into custody near the intersection of Rivers and Helm Avenues, an area with increased patrols due to ongoing drug activity and crime.
According to police, an officer on patrol noticed Stroud attempting to avoid law enforcement before he collided with another vehicle. Upon contact, officers detected the smell of marijuana and detained him.
A search of the vehicle revealed a handgun hidden in the center console.
