In a significant narcotics crackdown, the Indore crime branch police arrested an interstate drug trafficker, Sakir Hussain, with 2.241 kilograms of hashish. The seizure took place near the Polo Ground bridge on MR-4 Road following a tip-off.

The 60-year-old resident of Sector E-244, Chandan Nagar, Indore, was intercepted during a police operation led by Additional DCP Rajesh Dandotiya. Authorities recovered the hashish, estimated to be worth between Rs 22 to 112 lakh based on international market rates.

During questioning, Hussain admitted to procuring hashish from various states at lower prices and distributing it to drug addicts in Indore at higher rates. Hussain is a habitual offender with over a dozen registered cases including liquor smuggling, assault, and drug trafficking. He has previously served jail terms for cannabis smuggling.

A case under sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered, and police continue interrogations to dismantle the larger narcotics network operating across states. This arrest marks a continued effort by Indore police to crack down on drug trafficking in the region.
