New Delhi: A 23-year-old man, identified as Guddu, has been arrested by Delhi Police following an encounter near the Munak canal for his alleged involvement in the murder of 20-year-old Harsh Mishra in the Shalimar Bagh area of northwest Delhi.
According to police, the arrest took place days after a PCR call on August 25 reported that Harsh Mishra had been admitted to a hospital after being stabbed by unknown individuals. Mishra later succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Investigations revealed that the attack stemmed from a heated argument between the victim and a group of assailants, including Guddu. The accused is a resident of a jhuggi in Beri Wala Bagh.
During his arrest, police recovered a country-made pistol, one empty cartridge, and one live cartridge from Guddu. The arrest followed a brief police encounter near the Munak canal, during which the accused attempted to flee.
