JONES COUNTY, Ga. — Matthew Timothy Neet, a Georgia man, is facing multiple charges in connection with a University of Georgia ticket scam that has affected over 30 victims across the state. Authorities report that Neet was advertising fake tickets for sale online, defrauding people into paying for non-existent seats.
The scam, which was uncovered after a detailed investigation, has resulted in estimated losses of $1.3 million. Neet’s fraudulent activities spanned the state, with victims from various regions of Georgia falling prey to the scheme.
Neet, who was located in Louisiana, was arrested last week and extradited to Jones County Jail. He is currently being held without bond, facing charges related to his role in the widespread ticket scam. The investigation continues as authorities work to determine the full extent of the fraud.
