In a deeply disturbing case from Bidar, Karnataka, a woman has been arrested for the murder of her 6-year-old stepdaughter, Saanvi. The accused, identified as Radha, was exposed only after CCTV footage surfaced nearly two weeks after the incident.
The tragedy occurred on August 27 in Adarsh Colony, Bidar. Initially, the death was reported as a tragic accident, with Radha claiming that the child had fallen from the third floor while she was asleep in another room. Her explanation was accepted, and the case did not raise suspicion at the time.
However, the truth came to light when a neighbor reviewed his CCTV footage two weeks later and found disturbing evidence. The video allegedly shows Radha’s involvement in Saanvi’s fall. Shocked, the neighbor alerted Saanvi’s father, Siddhant, who immediately filed a police complaint.
Following this, Bidar district police arrested Radha and charged her under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) related to murder. Investigators say the case might have never been solved had the footage not emerged.
Authorities are continuing their inquiry, and the incident has sparked outrage across the region over growing cases of child abuse and domestic violence.
