LOS ANGELES — Willian Santos, 33, was arrested in connection with a homicide after a woman was found stabbed and burned in a Century City apartment fire last week.
On Friday, firefighters responded to a fire at an apartment on Bellwood Avenue around 6:15 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered a female victim suffering from burns and stab wounds. She was rushed to a nearby hospital but later died from her injuries.
The Los Angeles Police Department launched a homicide investigation, quickly identifying Santos as a suspect. He was taken into custody the same night in Lebec thanks to a joint effort by the FBI/LAPD Fugitive Task Force and the California Highway Patrol.
Authorities have not disclosed the relationship between Santos and the victim or a possible motive. Santos is currently held on $2 million bail, and the case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
