Lazarick Ballard Charged After Munford Apartment Fire

Suspect arrested for arson, aggravated assault in fire case

Lazarick Ballard Arrested After Intentional Fire at Munford Apartments

MUNFORD, Tenn. (WMC) — A Munford man has been arrested in connection with an apartment fire that broke out at the Surreywood Apartments on September 13.

Emergency crews responded quickly, evacuating the complex due to significant smoke and water damage. The American Red Cross is currently assisting displaced families impacted by the fire.

After an investigation, authorities determined the fire had been intentionally set. Lazarick Ballard was identified as the suspect and taken into custody.

Ballard now faces charges of aggravated assault and has been booked into custody with bond set at $150,000.

No injuries were reported, but officials say the case remains under investigation.
