COLUMBUS, Ga. — Three people were arrested following a Columbus Police Department investigation into card fraud, drugs, and a stolen firearm.
Deshaun Peralta, 20, a server at Longhorn Steakhouse on Macon Road, allegedly took photos of customers’ bank cards while processing payments. Police say he used this information to funnel thousands of dollars to himself.
On September 9, officers from the Property Crimes Unit, along with Special Victims and Violent Crimes Units, executed a search warrant at Peralta’s home. The search uncovered a money counter, multiple cell phones, 47 grams of marijuana, and a stolen AR-15 rifle.
Also arrested were Peralta’s 17-year-old brother, Tyrese Galloway, and 40-year-old mother, Yasmin Peralta.
Charges include:
Deshaun Peralta: financial transaction card theft, two counts of financial transaction card fraud, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and theft by receiving a firearm
Tyrese Galloway: theft by receiving a firearm
Yasmin Peralta: theft by receiving a firearm
Authorities report multiple victims in the case, with additional charges expected. The three are scheduled to appear in Recorder’s Court on Thursday, September 11, at 1:30 p.m.
