Fifteen Suspects Arrested in Ventura County Retail Theft Bust

Multi-day operation nets stolen goods, drugs, and vehicle in Camarillo

by Sophia Bennett

In a large-scale retail theft operation at the Camarillo Premium Outlets, Ventura County authorities arrested 15 suspects from October 4-6, uncovering $23,000 worth of stolen goods, a stolen vehicle, 90 grams of methamphetamine, and burglary tools. The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office collaborated with retailers and security personnel to apprehend the suspects, who face multiple charges, including organized retail theft, grand theft, and possession of stolen property.

Two high-speed pursuits involving suspects Derrell Jones and Dajuan Butler, and later Carolina Valverde, ended in arrests after deputies seized thousands in stolen merchandise and methamphetamine from the suspects’ vehicles.

This operation, spearheaded by the Ventura County Organized Retail Theft Task Force, aims to curb organized retail crime through partnerships with law enforcement, retailers, and the public.
