Jerry Whitlock, Mikel Morrison Arrested After Fayette County Traffic Stop

Active warrants lead to charges; passenger faces drug possession

FAYETTE COUNTY, W.Va. (WOAY) — Deputies with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department conducted a routine traffic stop on Route 19 that led to multiple arrests.

Two passengers in the vehicle were found to have active warrants. Jerry D. Whitlock was wanted in Greenbrier County on charges including hit and run and two other driving offenses. Mikel L. Morrison was wanted on a Nicholas County warrant for fraud, conspiracy, and larceny.

A third passenger, Melinda D. Blankenship, was found to be in possession of suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine. She was charged with possession offenses in Fayette County.

The driver of the vehicle received a warning for the traffic violation and was released at the scene.

Officials said the investigation is ongoing, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
