POLK COUNTY, Fla. — Two men are facing multiple felony charges after a traffic stop on Interstate 4 in Polk County led deputies to a stolen vehicle, along with drugs and paraphernalia.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) announced the arrests of Isaac McCarthur III, 24, of Winter Haven, and Jacobe Rashard Fowler, 21, of Eagle Lake, on Saturday.
The case began after a black Nissan Altima was reported stolen out of Orlando on September 5. PCSO deputies located the vehicle near US-27 in the Davenport area and conducted a traffic stop.
According to the sheriff’s office, McCarthur was driving and Fowler was in the passenger seat. Both were taken into custody without incident.
A search of the vehicle uncovered a black bag containing multiple small baggies, marijuana, and a digital scale, suggesting drug-related activity.
Deputies noted both suspects have prior criminal records:
Fowler has past narcotics arrests
McCarthur has a history involving retail theft and grand theft
Both men were charged with:
Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle
Possession of Marijuana
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
The investigation remains ongoing.
