MONROE COUNTY, Ga. — Two individuals, 23-year-old Mikela Kendrick of Peach County and 24-year-old Christian Thompson of Houston County, were arrested on September 4 following a lengthy investigation into identity theft, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The investigation uncovered stolen checks originating from several counties, including Monroe, Bibb, Houston, Fulton, and Richmond. Deputies also seized a printer reportedly used to produce counterfeit checks, marijuana, and a stolen firearm during the arrests.
Kendrick is currently held without bond at the Monroe County Jail on identity theft charges and is expected to face additional charges in Houston and Bibb counties. Thompson is being detained at the Houston County Jail on multiple charges and will also face identity theft charges in Monroe County.
Authorities said the investigation is still ongoing as they continue to gather evidence related to the case.
