William Taylor Arrested in Kinston for Gun and Child Abuse Charges

41-year-old charged after firing gun inside home and child abuse allegations

KINSTON, N.C. — A 41-year-old man is in custody following an early morning incident involving a firearm and child abuse allegations.

Kinston police responded to a disturbance on Sunset Avenue around 1:45 a.m. Tuesday. Upon arrival, officers spoke with residents and determined that William Taylor was impaired and had fired a gun inside the home.

Taylor was arrested and taken to Lenoir County Jail. He faces multiple charges, including:

Discharging a firearm to incite fear

Discharging a firearm within the city of Kinston

Two counts of misdemeanor child abuse

Taylor remains in custody pending further legal proceedings.
