Brundidge Man Arrested for Identity Theft and Check Fraud

A 22-year-old Brundidge man, Dequavius Quendez Coleman, has been arrested by Auburn Police on felony charges related to identity theft and theft of property.

Authorities say Coleman’s arrest on August 28 followed an investigation into a forged check reported in September 2024. The fraudulent check reportedly used information from a business account based in Auburn and was deposited into an account by an unidentified individual.

During the investigation, Coleman was identified as a suspect, leading to felony warrants being issued in October 2024. Officials say Coleman also had outstanding warrants in other jurisdictions for similar crimes.

Coleman was apprehended with assistance from the Barbour County Sheriff’s Office and is currently being held at the Lee County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
