Siblings of Football Star Diego Pavia Arrested at Game
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Roel and Javier Pavia, brothers of college football quarterback Diego Pavia, were arrested during a Vanderbilt University football game in Nashville on Saturday.
According to Vanderbilt University Police, officers responded to complaints about a man throwing food and disturbing fans in the stands. That man was later identified as Javier Pavia. When asked to leave the stadium, Javier reportedly refused to comply with officers.
During the encounter, Roel Pavia allegedly intervened by pushing an officer, escalating the situation further.
Both brothers were arrested at the scene. Javier faces charges of public intoxication and resisting arrest, while Roel was charged with assaulting an officer, in addition to public intoxication and resisting arrest.
Diego Pavia, a former standout quarterback at Volcano Vista High School and New Mexico State, now plays for Vanderbilt. His family was in town to support him during the game.
Police reports suggest alcohol played a role in the incident, and there were no reported injuries to officers or fans.
