The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested two suspects, including Aliyu Ibrahim, in Kaduna for allegedly operating a fraudulent recruitment syndicate in the name of the Service.
Sources revealed to Zagazola Makama that credible intelligence led to the suspects’ apprehension and preliminary investigations estimate that between 250 and 350 individuals fell victim to the scam after being promised employment with the DSS.
The suspects remain in custody as efforts continue to capture other members of the network still at large.
The DSS warned the public to be cautious of fake recruitment offers, emphasizing that all official recruitment exercises are announced exclusively through authorized channels and that the Service does not use agents or intermediaries.
Citizens are urged to stay vigilant and report suspicious activities to nearby security agencies. The DSS assured that it is committed to protecting Nigerians from job racketeering and prosecuting fraudsters.
