NEWPORT, N.H. —
Eight individuals have been arrested following a two-month investigation into drug trafficking activity in Newport, New Hampshire, according to the Newport Police Department.
Authorities announced the arrests on Tuesday, following an extensive operation targeting suspected drug activity on Belknap Avenue and Syndicate Street. Over the course of the investigation, officers executed three search warrants that led to the seizure of 30 grams of fentanyl and 28 grams of crack cocaine.
Between July 14 and August 26, the following individuals were taken into custody:
David Pardy, 44, of Springfield, VT – Drug charges
Jamie Long, 51, of Bradford, NH – Drug charges
Cassandra Matthews, 50, of Newport, NH – Drug charges
Aaron Hess, 33, of Croydon, NH – Drug charges
Shaun Willey, 47, of Newport, NH – Violation of probation
Daniel Chick, 56, of Newport, NH – Violation of probation
Casey Fernald, 34, of Newport, NH – Violation of probation
Shannon Martin, 44, of Newport, NH – Arrest on an outstanding warrant
Police say the investigation is ongoing, and additional arrests and charges are expected as part of their efforts to crack down on local drug activity.
