A 21-year-old man, Tyler Flisher, has been sentenced to two years and seven months in prison after attacking a man during a night out in Hawkinge, near Folkestone, and then intimidating him after his arrest.

Flisher, from Pritchard Drive, Hawkinge, pleaded guilty to unlawful wounding and witness intimidation after he stabbed a man in the chest on October 23, 2022. The incident occurred in the Pannell Drive area, following a dispute between two groups who were known to each other. Flisher had gone out to meet a woman near Benson Lane, and the victim, who was with friends, became involved in a confrontation with Flisher’s group. The argument escalated when Flisher attacked one of the men, leaving him seriously injured and requiring hospital treatment for a week.

Following his arrest, Flisher was charged with the stabbing and placed under bail conditions not to approach witnesses connected to the attack. However, Flisher violated these conditions by continuing to intimidate the victim, causing him to fear further harm.

At Canterbury Crown Court, Flisher was sentenced to two years and seven months for the stabbing and intimidation. In addition to his prison sentence, he was also given a three-year restraining order, which prohibits him from making any contact with the victim or another key witness involved in the case.

Flisher’s actions serve as a stark reminder of the consequences of violent crime and the severity of witness intimidation, which can further harm victims and hinder the justice process.
