by Amelia Crawford

Todd Brown, 46, a contract employee of Wade Shows Carnival at the Nebraska State Fair, was arrested Thursday on charges of using an electronic device to commit sexual assault.

Authorities say Brown engaged in online conversations with an undercover officer posing as a 14-year-old girl. During the chats, Brown referred to explicit sexual acts. He was apprehended after arranging a meeting with the undercover officer.

Brown is currently held in the Hall County Jail on $100,000 bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for September 18.

State Fair officials confirmed that no fair guests were involved in the incident. Executive Director Jaime Parr assured the public that swift law enforcement action ensured safety and that Brown has been banned from the fairgrounds.

Parr thanked the Nebraska State Patrol, Double Locked Security, and Lincoln Police Department for their coordinated response, emphasizing the fair remains a safe, family-friendly event.
