Corey McLaughlin Charged with Murder in Jackson Gas Station Shooting

Suspect arrested in fatal shooting of Shawn L. Crenshaw

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) — A suspect has been officially charged with murder in connection to a shooting death at a Shell gas station in Jackson.

On August 1, officers from the Jackson Police Department responded to the 4400 block of Robinson Street following reports of a homicide. The victim, 30-year-old Shawn L. Crenshaw, sustained multiple gunshot wounds and later died from his injuries.

Crenshaw is survived by three sons, two sisters, and one grandparent, according to his family.

On August 8, Corey McLaughlin was interviewed by JPD homicide detectives and formally charged with Crenshaw’s murder.

The investigation remains ongoing.
