Kayla Asmus Ordered to Pay $2,000 in Restitution for Credit Card Fraud

Spooner woman convicted of unauthorized credit card use at Economart

WASHBURN COUNTY — Kayla Asmus, 33, of Spooner, Wisconsin, has been sentenced following convictions related to unauthorized use of a customer’s credit card.

While employed at Economart grocery store in Spooner, Asmus was caught on store surveillance taking a photo of a customer’s credit card and later using it for personal purchases.

The Spooner Police Department responded to a fraud complaint filed by the store management. Asmus, who is no longer employed at Economart, has been ordered by the court to pay over $2,000 in court costs and restitution.
