Travis Penaluna, Christina Taylor Arrested in Marin ID Theft Case

Suspects Allegedly Used Stolen IDs for Vehicle Purchase, Fraud

Marin County, CA – Sheriff’s detectives in Marin County have arrested two Vallejo residents, Travis James Penaluna, 35, and Christina Rene Taylor, 40, on multiple charges in connection with an identity theft investigation. The suspects allegedly engaged in criminal activities throughout southern Marin, including using stolen identities to secure a vehicle loan.

Detectives tracked Penaluna and Taylor to a hotel in Vallejo, where they executed a search and found stolen items such as mail, checks, and equipment for producing fake cards, according to Sgt. Adam Schermerhorn of the Marin County Sheriff’s Office.

Penaluna faces charges including burglary, vehicle theft, conspiracy, possession of a firearm as a felon, and creating fictitious checks. He also had a federal warrant out for his arrest. Taylor was arrested on charges including possession of stolen property, burglary, conspiracy, and attempting to obtain credit using another person’s identity, as well as a parole violation warrant.

Both suspects are being held without bail at the Marin County Jail.
