Monroe police arrested 28-year-old Daniel Facen last weekend after he allegedly tried to stab his girlfriend and stole her vehicle during an argument.

On August 22, the victim told officers that she and Facen had been arguing when she left his home. Later, she returned with her ex-boyfriend to collect some belongings. While outside her vehicle in Facen’s driveway, he reportedly chased her with a butcher knife until she fell into a ditch.

According to the arrest report, Facen attempted to stab and cut the victim while she was in the ditch. She tried to escape by getting into her vehicle, but Facen used a spare key to unlock the passenger door and entered the car. The victim fled to Facen’s residence as he drove away in her vehicle.

The victim’s ex-boyfriend also told police that Facen tried to stab him during the incident.

When police questioned Facen, he claimed the victim had attacked him with a knife and that her ex-boyfriend had pointed a gun at him. He said he took the knife and drove off because he was scared.

Facen was arrested and booked at Ouachita Correctional Center on charges of domestic abuse battery, aggravated assault, and motor vehicle theft.
