Kutch (East) police have arrested three men accused of robbing pedestrians at knifepoint and murdering a 37-year-old man near Gandhidham last week. The suspects—Sikandar alias Siklo Bafan (23), Ramzan Chavda (21), and Osman Sanghani (21)—were involved in a series of nighttime attacks on isolated roads.
According to authorities, the gang targeted lone pedestrians, stealing phones and cash. Their crime spree was uncovered after the brutal stabbing of Sunil Nat, who was killed while walking with his cousin Vishal around 11 pm after getting off a bus. The trio attempted to snatch their belongings, but when Sunil resisted, he was fatally attacked.
Police noted that Sikandar had three prior cases in Kutch East and West, including assault and threats.
“To solve this case, five police teams worked under the Anjar division DySP’s supervision. We reviewed footage from 215 CCTV cameras, analyzed 850 GB of data, and conducted surveillance across Anjar, Bhachau, and Rapar. Combining technical evidence with human intelligence helped us identify the suspects,” said Sagar Bagmar, superintendent of police, Kutch (East).
