Former Memorial Hermann Hospital Director Arrested for Hidden Cameras in Bathrooms

Robert Pinon Shrader, a former nursing director at Memorial Hermann Medical Center in The Woodlands, has been arrested and charged with invasive visual recording. Police say Shrader placed hidden cameras in both staff and public restrooms inside the hospital’s West Tower.

The first camera was discovered near the labor and delivery unit on August 21 by maintenance staff. It had been hidden in an HVAC vent. A micro SD card revealed video of Shrader installing the device and over 175 images of unaware victims.

A second device was found days later in another bathroom, containing more than 130 images. Investigators also found additional recording equipment in Shrader’s office.

Shrader, arrested at his home in Magnolia, is accused of recording multiple victims, including minors. Memorial Hermann called the actions “reprehensible” and confirmed Shrader was immediately fired.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office has launched a full investigation and is encouraging potential victims to come forward.
