Boardman, OH — Austin Larsen, 26, is facing multiple felony charges after being accused of stealing deposits and resisting arrest during an encounter with police in Boardman.
The charges stem from a September incident when a business that had employed Larsen reported that several night deposits — totaling $2,802.25 — were missing. Larsen, who had been responsible for the deposits, was also a suspect in a prior break-in at the store, leading to his termination.
On Tuesday, officers went to a home on Garden Valley Drive to serve a warrant for felony theft charges related to the missing deposits. Initially, Larsen was asked to come to the door, but he exited through the back and attempted to evade police. After a brief confrontation, the resident of the home became irate, and was detained by officers.
Once inside the home, officers apprehended Larsen. Reports indicate he became combative, swearing at officers and lunging toward one in a threatening manner. While being placed into the cruiser, Larsen allegedly pulled his cuffed hands in front of his body and tried to bite an officer’s hand. It took five officers to regain control and properly secure him.
During the struggle, Larsen threatened officers, telling them to “wait ’til I see you on the street.” He was transported to Mahoning County Jail while the other resident was released without charges. Larsen is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday afternoon.
