
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – A man wanted in connection with a deadly shooting in Orangeburg County has been taken into custody after voluntarily turning himself in.
Zaquan Shaquez Jamison, 20, was arrested Friday morning in North Charleston on multiple charges, including murder, several counts of attempted murder, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
According to authorities, Jamison called Charleston County dispatch and identified himself, saying he wished to surrender to law enforcement for his outstanding warrants.
After conducting a background check, authorities confirmed Jamison’s charges and noted he was flagged as armed and dangerous. Officers moved quickly and detained him as he exited a residence on Evanston Boulevard. Police stated that Jamison complied with all commands during the arrest.
Following his apprehension, Jamison was booked at the Al Cannon Detention Center before being transferred to the custody of the Santee Police Department, where he faces prosecution.
The charges stem from an active investigation in Orangeburg County, though officials have not yet released further details about the incident leading to Jamison’s warrants.
