In a coordinated operation, the Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) and Langar Houz police arrested two individuals involved in cocaine trafficking in Hyderabad.
The accused are 33-year-old Mohit Sanjay Mehra from Narsingi, a peddler, and 28-year-old Jason Raj from Padmarao Nagar, a consumer. They were apprehended Thursday at Langar Houz during a drug purchase, where police seized 15 grams of cocaine along with two mobile phones, valued at Rs 3.9 lakh.
Mohit Mehra, originally from Mumbai and a BTech graduate in Mechanical Engineering, moved to Hyderabad in 2021 to grow his gold business. Following a divorce, he reportedly became involved in nightclubs and began using cocaine. Soon, he evolved into a supplier, purchasing cocaine from a Mumbai-based source at Rs 10,000 per gram and selling it for Rs 25,000 per gram in Hyderabad.
Police are investigating further to track down the Mumbai supplier and the local buyers linked to this network.
