XenaTheWitch Arrested for Paintball Assault During Livestream

Popular Kick Streamer Faces Charges After Shooting Bystander

by Sophia Bennett

Amaris Sampson, 29, known online as XenaTheWitch, a popular Kick livestreamer, was arrested Wednesday in Austin following an incident during a livestreamed scavenger hunt.

The event, held on August 9 near 2200 South Lakeshore Boulevard along the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail, was a $30,000 scavenger hunt organized by fellow streamer Paul “Ice Poseidon” Denino.

Police say Sampson allegedly shot a female bystander in the thigh with a paintball gun during the event. The victim, who was not participating in the hunt or wearing protective gear, reported pain and injury from the shot.

Live footage from the event captured the moment, and the victim can be heard saying, “Yeah, she f****** shot me. It was one of them girls.” Sampson reportedly responded dismissively with, “I don’t give a f***.”

The Austin Police Department issued a warrant for Sampson’s arrest, stating she deliberately or knowingly caused injury by firing the paintball gun recklessly in a public place without safety precautions, endangering others.

Sampson was taken into custody Wednesday and booked into Travis County Jail. The investigation is ongoing.
