Jeffrey Almond, Lincoln Fire Marshal, Arrested for Child Porn Charges

Almond indicted for receiving and transferring child sexual abuse material

by Sophia Bennett

BOSTON – Jeffrey Almond, the 41-year-old fire marshal for the town of Lincoln, has been arrested and federally charged with receiving and possessing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and attempting to send obscene material to minors.

According to the indictment, Almond engaged in sexually explicit chats with undercover law enforcement officers posing as minors. The charges include one count each of receipt and possession of child pornography, and two counts of attempted transfer of obscene material to a minor.

From February through November 2024, Almond allegedly used multiple online platforms to obtain CSAM and solicit minors. In August, he communicated with an undercover officer posing as a 15-year-old girl, requesting explicit content and discussing meeting in person. In October and November, he spoke with another officer posing as a “bad parent” of a 12-year-old girl, discussing plans to sexually exploit the minor.

Almond appeared in federal court in Providence and will face future proceedings in Boston. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison for the possession and receipt charges, and up to 10 years for the attempted transfer counts, along with fines and supervised release.

The case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a DOJ initiative targeting child exploitation nationwide. The investigation included cooperation with the Portsmouth Rhode Island Police Department.

Officials emphasize that these are allegations, and Almond is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
