CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — A Clarksburg man arrested in a March drug bust has pleaded guilty to selling fentanyl and p-fluorofentanyl, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
William Joseph Russell, 51, admitted in court to distributing the powerful synthetic opioids in Harrison County. His arrest was part of a larger drug operation that targeted 10 individuals, including six other Clarksburg residents.
The case was investigated by the Greater Harrison Drug Task Force, and Assistant U.S. Attorney William Rhee is handling prosecution for the federal government.
Russell now faces sentencing on federal drug distribution charges.
