LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Alexander Lee Rogers, 51, has been arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department in connection with a deadly stabbing that occurred on August 5, 2025, in Longview, Washington.
Rogers was wanted for the murder of 64-year-old Dawn Peters and the attempted murder of 73-year-old Andrew Peters. He was taken into custody on August 12 in Los Angeles.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department found Rogers’ BMW abandoned and unoccupied in Woodland Hills on August 11. Prior to his arrest, Longview police had an unrelated encounter with Rogers at a local grocery store.
Captain Branden McNew of the Longview Police Department thanked the public for their vital assistance, noting that hundreds of tips helped lead to Rogers’ capture.
Los Angeles Police Chief Jim McDonnell addressed the arrest during a press conference on Tuesday afternoon, highlighting the successful cooperation between agencies in apprehending the suspect.
