National Guard member faces multiple battery charges
A member of the National Guard, Selena Martinez, 21, was arrested Thursday night following a violent incident at a local country bar.
Martinez, a resident of Santo Domingo Pueblo, is accused of hitting a police officer and assaulting a bar bouncer during the altercation. She now faces one count of battery on a peace officer, two counts of battery, and one count of resisting arrest, according to court records.
The incident reportedly began at the bar and escalated when police arrived. Martinez allegedly resisted arrest and struck an officer during the confrontation.
As of now, Martinez does not have legal representation, and no further details have been released about the circumstances leading up to the altercation.
