EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — A 20-year-old man, Carlos Salinas III, who is currently on parole for a murder conviction he received as a juvenile, has been arrested again—this time for assault.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies responded to an assault in progress Sunday night at the 100 block of Nonap Road, near Horizon Hills Park. When they arrived, the victim told deputies that Salinas had assaulted them.

Authorities confirmed that Salinas is on parole for a murder committed while he was a minor. Deputies later located him at the 12700 block of Pellicano Drive, where he was taken into custody.

He now faces a charge of assault causing bodily injury. While his bond was initially set at $20,000, court records show that it was reduced to $3,000 on Tuesday. As of Tuesday evening, Salinas remains in jail.
